markets took it in the shorts today

markets took it in the shorts todayall my public picks are in the red as the TSX gets beaten up.   XRC's up a couple of pennies shielded to some extent by listing on the VSE.
XRC Mgmt seem very confident their drilling program will produce a good result for the company and it's shareholders as they move into springtime.
9000 metres?  roughly would equate to 27,000 feet?  Is that right or am I miss reading the proposed drill depths?
That would make the proposed drill depth for comparison to somewhere close to the height of Mt Everest?
Am I getting all this back to front ?   could someone with mining knowledge enlighten me!!
