The truth about the CMR, IMO.. Cronin Jumped the gun. The CMR was working in the lab just fine and when it got into live testing with real people, false positives started happening and the machine became befuddled by a fluid and changing environment. This is why they acquired thier own AI company added another magnetic wave sensor and start working with other laboratories, like Raytheon, IBM and now nividea and others to access different radar arrays and benefit from the different perspectives of various multi billionaire laboratories.
They want to intergrate AI so the machine can learn for itself and make its own adjustments on the fly, but in order for that to happen you have to expose it to diverse environments unpredictably and chaos in testing.
Additionally, it is under going a sensor array adjustment as well as a magnetic wave along with the micro wave so it has more of a robust detection ability and detect non metallic polymer weapons through imaging.
moreover they want to increase the application abilities so that it doesn't have to be just a through-wall scanner but can also be a stand alone unit ready to scan on demand anywhere anytime and virtually foil proof.
they have to accomplish all of this while abiding by fcc safety standards.
The problem is not that setbacks had actually happened, shyt man with a project this ambitious and ground breaking, if you simply explained to people what all is happening, most of rational people would have said, "well yeah, if you're trying to do all of that, then I understand a setback or three"
and would be willing to hang tough.
but Cronin chose not to do that, for what ever reason he just chose not to address the obvious, missed the timeline and really gave us bits and pieces of information for like 2.5 years now, and has shaken confidence.
in other words he did not manage the PR situation properly at all and he let people's imaginations got the best of them, with shorters, detractors, and rival technology companies all foaming at the mouth and ready to pounce, and as one can see on this board, they are still at it.
Now Cronin does not strike me as a PR guy, proof of that is the way he handled this situation, he should have just told us what happened.
he strikes me more of a behind the scenes type guy, getting things done that are very important but things that the market doesn't understand.
proof of that is what he thinks the market and shareholders would be interested in hearing in his NR's, he's in his own head about what is important but the market doesn't see it his way, we want to just see numbers or timelines that lead to numbers.
Can the the CMR happen, if so, how far out? Well, once again, Cronin has kept us in the dark and will not address that directly, but the billionaire companies keep jumping on board, nvidea being the latest.
In closing I'll say this, I think Cronin f@cked up, I think he knows he f@cked up, and is trying to put some VRS sales up to ease the sentiment and change the fundamentals a bit while he fixes the CMR.
the VRS with THERMAL & AI could be another game changer with this covid thing,
but Cronin has to get it done on time on budget and create fan fare, that what CEOs do.
He definitely has his work cut out for him and his a$$ better get it done, he owes us now.
