RE:RE:RE:If

RE:RE:RE:IfGuys,
I really like reading this board- thanks for all the back and forth.

A few things that have me really down today...
1.
I have some acquaintances that operate a private oil/gas co in Alberta. They own and operate maybe 10-12 wells mostly heavy oil, old wells in the D3 Nisku/Leduc formations, a couple gas wells nearby. Talking with one of them yesterday, they received a surprise invoice from the CRA yesterday for Carbon Taxes as an emitter, which they are because they burn NG to run the compressor to pressure up the formation. All the reporting they have done on sales and feedstock gas was up to date and they had been, or thought they had been paying this tax all along. The bill was for $55k. As far as I know this is for 1 compressor... No explanation from CRA, no one at the CRA can speak understandable english.- It sounds like a huge clusterfk- I think they have almost had it.... I wonder how the larger companies are dealing with this? What do their bills look like?

2.
Federal budget released yesterday, Capital gains moving to 66%! over 250k... It seems to me like they want to kill the productive class. I can tell you alot of guys that own businesses, they have had enough. Dark days in the great white north.
