There are a lot of things to consider here.  Who is going to be able to grow mj more economically, consistently and safely?  The little mom and pop grower or the proffessional grower with a million plus square foot greenhouse?  How hygenic is the mom and pop grower's product - does it contain pestisides and unhealthy fertilizers, mold?  Is it inspected regularly by health inspectors?  Is their product consistent?  Is it scientifically formulated to suit your needs?  in any case it seems like the future is not going to be in smoking cannabis - where would you smoke it other than in your own home...and do you really want to do THAT?  It's unlikely to be legal to smoke it in any public place.  The future is in consumables - every possible kind...edibles and drinkables and in a miriad of other ways and in controlable formulations to make you feel better - whether it's for anxiety or sleep or pain prolems, etc., etc. etc.

I don't think there will be much of a black market - that will go the way of the dodo bird.
