Some reflections here.
Mr. Critchley is a good journalist and makes a good summary about the present TBE situation.
However, ironically, he uses the "getting down to the wire" expression in the title.
This expression is still used to determine the winner in tight races, to "see" who breaks the finish line. Its origin may be related to its use in early horse races.
Unfortunately, the TBE saga was no race at all, it was a war of attrition and some clealy are nowhere close to the finish line. Sad.
