RE:Tilray: Cannabis Legalization could be sooner than expected

RE:Tilray: Cannabis Legalization could be sooner than expected Boy, that Seeking Alpha link speaks volumes in the reply section about red-neck US protectionist feelings in regards to Canadian cannabinoid skus landing on their shelves.

Loyalty is good but good competition is what makes an industry better.

US cannabinoid consumers should welcome safe, inspected, traceable, quality controlled marijuana and hemp skus that Canada is swimming in because Canada did the work to make this happen.

Sadly, I believe, that about a half of US cannabinoids are illegal, unregulated and their safety is questionable because the US people charged with dealing with these issues don't have the will or ability to secure the cannabinoid business to the degree that Canada and possibly others that I am not aware of, can provide.

That safe supply of cannabinoids from Canada is also cheap and competitive to the black market by design and at the will of the government agencies charged with the administration of this segment of industry.

Canada still has the right for individuals to homegrow 3 plants somehow that I don't really agree with because it leaves the adulteration of a poor grow in the hands of non-professionals who may tweak it up with something bad if they can't grow to the quality and strength that is acceptable.

For my money, legal, inspected, safe, secure and traceable pot and hemp products available at a neighbourhood dispensary or retailer for the same or slightly higher price is a no-brainer and very convenient compared to sneaking around with drug dealers who are selling you a bag of weed pulled out of their crotch.

The US MSOs understand what the industry needs but something is keeping achieving this out of reach.

I have entertained the theory that the people charged with getting the illegal weed issue straightened out may be dragging anchor on it because of black market influencers like Cartels and Biker Gangs play with much higher stakes that the legalizers are not willing to play.

This is still going to happen one State at a time if the powers are unwilling to deal with the deadly faction of the cannabinoid business.

There are several good, well thought out bills passed that hit the best points of what government sanctioned legality should be and it gets fumbled there with nothing progressive and positive towards legalization of pot skus.

It is past time for the cannabinoid interested lobbyists to force the issue with those that can make legal pot happen.

If they need to get a meeting with Hunter Biden for some ear time with the Big Guy, that would be money well spent.  Most of those pro-pot bills just need a signature and maybe some graft to get things moving.

Sadly, that is the way of the world and the US is no different and probably most other countries too.

The way to deal with the cartels is to put them back growing in cheap, sunny climates but they have to grow quality and safety into their operations.  Take that supply of ingredient and let the MSOs and LPs manufacture value added pharma and recreational skus that are better products than the smokeable stuff that the black market is currently selling.

Doing this will very likely cost some lives but not doing it is going to cost more lives imho.

And it would be a major coupe against the illegal market and provide some safety and security for consumers.

No brainer!!
