shorts and the clever 'shirt distort'. But like it not, participate of not - shorting is a perfectly legal investment strategy.
Too risky for me, but you have have to ask yourself why would shorters pick a stick like Tilray to begin with.
Plain and simple - you pick a stock that you think is overvalued and whose price will fall - you don't pick winner stocks with a bright future.
Fits Tilray to a 'T', right.
Anywsy - what IS illegal and not spoken about much on the board are the pump and dumpers - and 'longs' who bought in too high a year or three ago are sitting at huge losses with an investment in a loser stock / like Tilray.
Seems like one way for them to recover some of their losses - would be to pump a stock - as the saying goes - and then sell so they can buy stocks with a legitimate future and offering actual returns on an investment - like US MSOs.
So are the longs here all pump and dump types - probably not. Are some? Could be.
Who's worse - someone who purposely mislead fellow investors with misleading, inaccurate information to drive a stock up - or soneine using a legal, legitimate investment strategy like shorting.
