Question to Pierre

Question to PierreDear Mr Leveille,

In the March 28 Press release you stated : “ The aims of the program are to start delineating the diamond potential”.

I am curious to get your opinion on what kind of results are needed in order for AFA to think its can delineate a diamond potential on EPL 3403.  Are we talking about the same type of results as does found during the last block J program?

Kind regards

XXX

Dear XXX,

The program we are currently carrying is an evaluation program, which has as it’s main the goal evaluating the diamond potential of EPL 3403 and not delineating a resources, as was the last goal of our Block J exploration program.  Therefore, it important to understand that the exploration program presently being conducted on EPL 3403 is at a lesser advance stage than the last program we did on Block J.

The most important factor behind evaluating the potential of marine diamond  concession is the fashion in which the diamonds are discovered. If we find the diamonds grouped together in a clear and defined environment, we are then able to evaluate a potential.

The second important factor is the size of the stones. Diamond values are not linearly linked to the size of stones: larger stones are disproportionately more valuable than smaller ones. The number of stones which are recovered is an interesting factor but, at this stage of sampling, is less significant than either the diamond concentration or the average diamond size.

The previous program carried out by IMDH on EPL 3403 was a reconnaissance program that has enable to prove presence of diamonds with the recovery of 23 stones on 267 samples taken over a very sparse sampling grid. They have also been able to find some concentration areas with some samples were found to contained more than 1 diamond, one of these sample contained 6 stones.

With the current program, we do not have a goal regarding the specific number of diamonds we need to recover because it is still evaluation program done over the large area we have to cover.

However, we feel that the program will be successful if we recover more diamonds than the previous program (23) and if the diamonds are recovered grouped in confined areas and if the average size of diamond is large enough to have an influence of the economic potential of the project.

Kind regards
