what i dont understand

is how the developement of luiperd is not advancing becuse of anti-fussil policy yet in the orange basin total recieved permit for 5 wells and completed a farm in to block 3b/4b just today..btw, total left the farm in discussions 6 months ago and came back 3 months ago, could it be related to block 11b/12b? maby

Pherhaps because for TOTAL this South African Orange Basin assets are much cheaper to buy, compared to the Orange Basin assets from CHEVRON, PANCONTINENTAL, GALP, SINTANA in the North in Namibia, which seems more supportive for the industry than South Africa?

Unfortunately we don't know why 11b/12b is moving so slowly (if at all).  I don't believe ant-fossil plays a signicant role, though.  The country depends on coal, and gas is clearly better. My guess it that it is more related to infra-structure issues surrounding the expected buyer/consumer, and possibly financial considerations, around both product purchase and infra-structure ...more

common sense sais it should be figured out, the gas is there, the infrastructure is there, the demand is there and the economics are there..

if thats "eps" i wonder what is a delayed ps.. anyway as i understand there nothing to expect before election on may, maby by year end something will move
