RE:LockdownsMaggs,
Everyone I know is waiting patiently but certainly does not feel these measures are absurd. As I retired person with a house it is a lot easier than being in an apartment.
We have a public health system in which we all pay to maintain the health of everyone. That is a big incentive to advance public health initiatves in a pandemic. We have a health care sector that has been overloaded for a year, near failing in a few places, and we do not want that in Canada.
Finally, here in BC our public officials are great communicators and very sympathetic.
In Canada we do not get as angry at inititiaves that advance the public good. Our basic worldview, in the constitution, is peace, order and good government, not life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness as in the US.
AS a citizen of both countries, I know which side of the border I prefer.
