A larger workforce of well paid workers has a large spin-off effect for jobs in the community and all those jobs pay taxes and that is for life of mine. Whether that would equal the power subsidy, I don't know but it is not as simple as Mr Barz suggests. As for the taxpayer paying the subsidy, If Ajax doesn't go ahead, as a resident of Kamloops, he will be paying higher taxes in lieu of taxation Ajax would have been paying.
