Quebec Liberals headed for decisive election win
MONTREAL (CP) - Jean Charest led his Liberals to a decisive election
victory in Quebec on Monday, pushing the sovereignty debate to the
back burner for at least the next several years.
With most of the province's 125 ridings reporting results, the Liberals
had 46 per cent of the popular vote, compared with 34 per cent for the
Parti Quebecois and 18 per cent for the Action democratique du
Quebec.
