We agree that the BP incident was a terrible tradgedy that didn't need to happen but terrible unnecessary tragedies happen unless we all stand still. When a plane accident happens you don't stop flying and when an industrial accident happens you learn from them and carry on. The NEB process is very robust which includes requirements to have a minimum level of financial resources available to cover liabilitites in case of an incident (I imagine you knew that). Pipelines are the safest most economical way to transport product and there is hundreds of thousands of KM of pipelines that operate every day in North America. Kinder Morgan is approved and it's time to move forward and up to the regulator to ensure they are compliant so that incidents are minor and spills are small like they have been for decades.
