Lets Talk about Grades
There are some high surface, epithermal deposits of calcopyrite that have concentrations os 3-4%.
They have drilled deep to find the source (river, feeder dykes etc). They did produce an intercept of .44% over 2 meters.
THe 3-4% ore is great, it is shallow. THe problem is there simply isnt much of it. This type of deposit forms from steam that drops out of solution; it forms puddles at teh surface that do not extend deep and an not uniform across a large surface area.
I will content that there is not enough surface puddles on the island to produce an ore resource that will drive a mining compnay to set up operations. They need to discover the source (river) in order to mine at storm.
Furthermore, if these copper feeder systems are at a depth of more than 200meters they will need grades of 2-3-4% to mine it profitcably; and these woudl ned to be proven up before any greenlight on the projact.
