unlike BEW they not only set up the tracking but provide custom cloud based software that analyses the data for the client.
30 mill in pipeline and expansion opportunites.
BeWhere also has a custom cloud platform which integrates with all major 3rd parties. For example, they are integrated in GeoTab's platform which is the largest GPS fleet management provider in Canada -- does $100MM in annual sales.
Also here is why Bluetooth beacons are less expensive than RFID tags: With any RFID solution, you need a reader. You can't use anything else. The reader detects the tag, and it then transmits the information to the cloud to be processed.
RFID is in no way cheaper because active tags are expensive (see here for example:
atlasrfidstore.com -- $30/tag). Worst part is they do not come with any sensors equipped. BeWhere's product has quite a few sensors. With an active tag setup, you probably only need 1 reader since your tags have a very long range.
With passive tags, you need lots of readers because your range is only a few feet or tens of feet at best. The readers are very expensive.
So to recap:
RFID can be setup in 2 ways:
- Active tags with one or few readers: each tag is expensive, but few readers need to be used which are themselves an order of magnitude more expensive
- Passive tags can be used with lots of readers if a wide area needs to be covered. The passive tags have a low range so many readers need to be installed to have full coverage of an area. If you area of coverage is small, then few readers would be required of course so this would be a cheaper option in that case.
