RE:Like BEW? One Should Look at TRAK.It's actually not that similar. I don't know Trakopolis all that well, but they are more on the software side, i.e. the interfacing with IoT or telematics devices, and analytics of asset tracking / monitoring. It looks like they are doing decent, but the quarterly cash burn is seriously high... Not to mention the majority of their sales are H/W sales. Until their recurring revenue base is large enough, they are suspetible to large quarterly variances in revenues due to the H/W portion.
BeWhere is at the forefront of the LPWA (low-power wireless area) market, which is a brand NEW market. Traditional IoT devices connect to the cloud via WiFi whereas with LPWA (aka LTE-M / NB-IoT) the devices connect directly to cell towers. As such, the IoT devices can roam about in the world and send data sensor wherever they are as long as they have a cell tower to connect to -- this is called "open-loop". Traditional IoT devices or RFID or Bluetooth beacons have "closed-loop" applications, e.g. they monitor the same area all the time. The carriers are highly interested in having IoT devices connect to their networks because they get a monthly connection fee for every device. That's partially why the LPWA market is going to be huge, and the other reason is for "open-loop" possibilities.
