RE:RE:RE:RE:So far today, the only posts relating to Hexo that I can seeYou would be better off investigating how growers of vegetables or flowers track lost plants / production than to compare something such as automotive.  Automotive is very controlled with little external factors coming into play.  For example, the only thing that will cause scrap in automotive is a repeative manufacturing defect or flawed raw material being injected into the manufacturing process (eg poor metal).

For growers the external factors that can come into play include such things as poor soil, insect infectations, hail storms etc, this is why producers who tried to grow outside ran into trouble as storms and poor growing conditions resulted in unforeseen crop failures and it is also why Cannabis Growers still favor indoor greenhouse growing as the conditions and inputs to the system (eg fertilizer and sunlight) are directly controllable therefore crop losses are mininal and more within the control of the producer.

In terms of lost plants etc its a matter of tracking what was planted, what yield is expected from each plant and then comparing to actual yield at the time of harvest.

Hope that helps, as always DYODD and GL
