VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA, Nov 4, 2009 (Marketwire via COMTEX News Network) --
KentExploration Inc. (the "Company") (TSX VENTURE:KEX) reports that it hascommissioned Dr. Gerald Ray, Ph.D. P.Geol, a Qualified Person asdefined by National Instrument NI-43-101, to conduct aNI-43-101-compliant technical report on the Alexander River property.
PhaseI field exploration operations on the Alexander River property, whichis to include identifying potential diamond drill locations, hascommenced and will continue until December 15th, recommencing after theChristmas/New Year break, approximately the first week of January,2010. Field work on the Alexander, Lyell and Paparoa prospects isexpected to continue until late April 2010. The exploration program isunder the direction of Ms. Nancy Reardon, M.Sc. P.Geol., a QualifiedPerson as defined by National Instrument NI-43-101.
The 2,669ha Alexander River gold prospect lies in the southern portion of theprolific Reefton Gold Field, where historic production is reported tobe in excess of 10 million ounces of placer gold and 2 million ouncesof lode gold, is the location of the historic Alexander River goldmine, with a strike of approximately 2 km, that reportedly produced41,091 ounces of gold from 47,726 tonnes of quartz prior to closing in1943 due to labor shortages.
The Alexander River prospect, which Macraes Mining, in a 1993 filing with Crown Minerals NZ, reportedan inferred gold resource of 4,000,000 tonnes at 5+ g/t au (643,000ounces/au) lies approximately 25 km southeast of Reefton, on the WestCoast, South Island, New Zealand and 20 km southeast of Oceana Gold'sapproximately 50,000 oz/year Globe Progress gold mine.
TheCompany advises that it is treating the inferred resource as a historicresource. A qualified person has not done sufficient work to classifythe historic resource as a current mineral resource; accordingly thehistoric resource should not be relied upon.
