The NDP did not interfere with the Gold Commissioner

The NDP did not interfere with the Gold CommissionerI am relieved that the NDP did not seem to interfere with the Gold Commissioner. Thank you Premier Horgan!

I was 90% positive that we would get our lease back. My only concern was that the NDP would block the reinstatement out of concern that the provincial government was potentially on the hook for hundreds of millions in damages arising from the court case we won in 2013.

I'm not a lawyer, that said, my sense is we would have still had a good chance of collecting damages, even if we did not get the lease back. However, it would have likely delayed the process for another 3 or 4 years.

Now BKM can refocus their efforts on informing and educating the LBN on why the Morrison mine will greatly benefit their people and at the same time will not endanger the few Morrison sockeye, as the mine design is very safe.
