RE:Holy krapp... this is unreal I find it incredible that they repeated the same false statements. Morrison Lake is not at the headwaters of the Skeena.
I put away the champagne bottle and cracked open the whiskey instead last night. After digesting the news this moring, I can't stop shaking my head.
IMO, if we go down the road of court action, it will be a long. long time till we receive a decision. If anyone has had any exposure to how the court system works here in BC, you know it will be 2 + years just to get a court date in the Supreme Court of BC. Then will will be delays by lawyers and rescheduling that will add months. Once the case is heard, the judge can delay a decision for months. Once a decision is announced, the losing party can appeal to the Appeals Court of BC. This will be another couple of years + to go through. Then again delay for the decision. Then, the losing party can ask for leave to appeal to the Supreme Court of Canada. You see where this is going? It could be 6, 7 plus years before anything is decided with no guarantee of a positive outcome. The legal fees and court costs will be in the millions of $$. Of course by then the culprits responsible will be long retired enjoying their pensions indexed to inflation.
For reasons unknown to me, the LBN have a negative view of Booker management. IMO if there is a chance this mine can go forward, Booker needs to hire someone who can extend an olive branch to the LBN, heal the wounds between the comapny and LBN and probably have to negotiate a JV with them if that is even possible. Then they'll probably have to reapply under the new EAO rules and maybe 4th time lucky? How many more shareholders will pass on in the meantime?
Regardless, I know it's been hard on my family and many others as well. Maybe we need to start a Booker Shareholder Support Group. Personally, I will not invest another dollar into any resouce project in BC. Sadly, there are other jurisdictions in the world that are more open to resouce developement with less corrupt processes. Well, retirement's still on hold, gotta get back to work.
