The native tribes of the past, from my historical teachings and readings, had many warring and conquering tribes, encroaching on other tribes lands for thier resources and people. Some were of a more peaceful life, but in times of difficulty, they also did what they required to do to make thier existence possible. Displacement has happened everywhere throughout history.
First nations is a disputable topic, as it has always been for who was first where?... , but making another groups life difficult for the sake of retribution, and leaving your people without the tremendous gains of resources to be had, is definately cutting your nose to spite your face.
All we can do is try to make our future a better place, for the history is unchangeable
