Horizon 2020 (EU)$120 billion innovation programmeSure sounds like a program that could benefit Erin and the boron industry!
Medgold Resources Corp.(MED) , also talks about why they prefer Europe as to Africa, and Horizon 2020. https://ec.europa.eu/programmes/horizon2020/en/what-horizon-2020
“There are a number of reasons why Medgold is exploring in Europe, rather than Africa, for example,” stated Medgold President and Director Daniel P. James in an exclusive interview. “Identifying a suitable jurisdiction for exploration is critical. We look for countries that have a combination of political stability and geological potential. Exploration is a high-risk business and we need to understand and manage these risks. There is no point developing a gold project that could be taken from you by a government intent on resource nationalisation.”
The European Union (EU) is a big brother in the background pushing all of the member states toward the $120 billion innovation programme called ‘Horizon 2020’.
Medgold recently applied for a 100 square kilometer exploration licence targeting a newly identified epithermal-porphyry system in Serbia—a country with a rich history of mining.
Serbia has a large metal endowment and the mining industry enjoys high-level government support. James believes this is a very good time to get into Serbia.
“The ongoing contraction of the gold exploration industry has created major opportunities for risk-tolerant junior exploration companies,” stated James. “The cost of exploration has decreased significantly, and there are many dormant exploration projects which can be acquired quickly and at low cost.”
Serbia was explored for lead and zinc in the 1970s, but there has been sparse gold exploration. The country has a lot of unexplored land and open geology. As an EU candidate, they’re aligning themselves with various industrial sectors, including mining.
