Stockhouse, Agoracom and Schmonkeys

Stockhouse, Agoracom and Schmonkeys
The question of whether to post on Agoracom or Stockhouse has always been debated here. It's well known where I fall. I'll give a nod to Agoracom but I'm with Stockhouse all the way and it's all about freedom, anarchy and the nature of capital markets.

Every single stock trade is a perfect example of opposed opinion - one person has sold the stock and the other has bought it. Can't get any more opposed in opinion than that. And the price of a stock is the sum of collective opinion about the stock, with that collective opinion being frozen in time by the last trade, only until the next trade.

The objective of market regulators is to create what they call orderly markets, knowing full well that the markets would very quickly devolve into anarchy without regulation. Even with good regulation there are those who will harm the interests of others when they have the chance.

The inclinations toward anarchy and harm cannot be exposed in chat forums with police and judges who have the power to delete posts and ban posters. The mere threat is enough to cause people to censor themselves. Even Stockhouse's profanity restrictions inhibit expression and it annoys me to no end. (Stockhouse allowed BigHog to register that name but they won't allow that name in a post because it contains "big hog." And Graeme D**k of Colwell Capital can't sign his own name to a post. Ridiculous!)

If somebody wants to call me an effing azzwhole then I want him to be able do it, and for a very simple reason - he destroys his own credibility when he has no knowledge or opinion to express and must resort to that, and he saves me from having to respond in more than a general way. (I'm too busy these days to be bothered responding to insults and wisecracks unless they create an opportunity to inject something valuable into the conversation, something that often happens.)

Censorship destroys our ability to detect motives, problems, negative potentials, too many things that investors need to know in order to invest from positions of strength. Stockhouse offers that.

So does Agoracom have value? Yes. You can post something of value there and it doesn't get buried under an avalanche of hate mail. I'll be posting larger pieces on both Agoracom and Stockhouse. But otherwise, this is home. (BearDownAZ is a huge asset to readers of both forums.)

Larger Pieces

There have been some topics and questions come up over the last little while that deserve some attention. I have a piece written about target engagement, an important subject that is being increasingly discussed by Bioasis. This piece is essentially finished. I'll post it sometime between now and Monday.

A comment was made to me the other day about techies, Silicon Valley types. (We recently had an important player from that area invest in Bioasis.) Some of them complain that although they know a lot about technology, they don't know much about biotechnology. They often consider investing in biotechs to be too dangerous for them. These are interesting people because many of them approach investing and their professions in similar ways - they usually don't start anything without confidence in their level of understanding. So I think I'll try to reduce Bioasis and xB3 to a technical discussion using terms familiar to technical people. Sounds like fun (to me and other nerds).

I also think that a discussion of the business of being Bioasis is needed. Business development, partnership deals, licensing deals are touchy subjects, especially for reasons that relate to American securities regulations and our announced plans to move to NASDAQ. The fact is, we operate in Canada, and we have to think like a hockey team. We can't play tomorrow's game today. We have to win today's game first. Shareholders who want this to play out to its potential need to be proactive in the advancement of this company. It's ours. Get on board today or get out of the way. Whining about waiting for monkey data, NASDAQ and deals is of no help to anybody.

Bioasis is not in business to save lives. We are in business to do business. We will save no lives unless we do some business first. Leveraging the xB3 platform by advancing our own development programs, partnering with others to bring them to market and helping the pharmaceutical industry advance their projects with licensing deals are all on the table and I think that investors need to be aware of the larger goals of this business. Monkeys, schmonkeys, give me deals, more deals and money. (Give me land, lots of land, give me sunny skies above, don't fence me in...)

Monday is a holiday in Canada so the markets are closed. This is a huge travel and camping weekend for Canadians. Not too many people will be interested in Bioasis over this weekend. And the American markets are closed on Wednesday, Independence Day and my birthday. I'll post something by Monday.

Now...

It's time to partayyyy!

Happy Canada Day, eh!
