RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: What gives???RothsteinI don't think anyone on here, myself included, would claim to be able to fully explain the junior gold market. My point was that there are two factors at play here that are affecting gold companies' share prices - 1) the price of gold and 2) the state of the venture capital markets...the PRICE of gold is high, the venture capital markets are dry (at the moment). As a result, junior gold explorers prices are generally WAY down, but there are a few that are bucking the trend, BVG is one of them, probably due to a combination of the good results and good management. The vast majority of juniors WITHOUT established resources are in the toilet. The majority of major, gold-only producers are UP. I DID cite two examples in my previous post, Barrick and Newmont, that have both essentially doubled since last November. Three more examples are Goldcorp ($18 to $38), Kinross ($9 to $23) and Anglogold ($14 to $28) - all have more or less doubled over that period - they are in the same ballpark as BVG's rise. My point is that when gold price AND the venture markets are BOTH strong, then the junior explorers do well often regardless of their results based on pure speculation, and those with good results (such as BVG) go through the roof. Right now, while gold price is high but venture markets are down (i.e. people are risk-shy), investors are preferring to invest in a "sure thing" i.e. gold PRODUCERS (hence the rise in the majors stocks recently). While BVG may be getting shorted (I don't know), it probably isn't getting the attention it deserves because most people are risk-shy right now and want to invest in the companies that are taking gold out of the ground NOW. However, once the venture markets recover, there is no reason that BVG shouldn't go much higher - their results are good! No tree-shaking from me! ;-)  I was just attempting to explain why BVG shareprice is not higher than it currently is.
