("Lomiko" or the "Company") (TSX VENTURE:LMR) announcestoday that it has received a letter from the Saskatchewan Ministry ofEnergy and Resources stating it is processing coal lease applicationson 56,832 Ha. The area is located in southwestern Saskatchewan andrepresents approximately six (6) townships, including the formerKelfield Mine.
Historic records show that coal was mined near Kelfield from theUpper Cretaceous Belly River (Judith River) Formation (Source:Saskatchewan Geological Survey, 2003). Several of the other Belly Rivercoal occurrences referenced by the SGS 2003 also have coal sampleanalyses, including two outcrop samples from the Saskatchewan Landingarea, two outcrop samples from the Kerrobert and Unity areas, and asubsurface sample from an oil-well near Brock.
In support of Lomiko's application for an exploration permit,Lomiko will submit the exploration plan to the Ministry. These planswill include review and compilation of the information available fromvarious sources, fieldwork and analysis.
