RE: RE: RE: RE: Eye of the Storm

RE: RE: RE: RE: Eye of the StormYou've never noticed that yellow jackets fly around like kids on ecstasy on the warm, dry days of autumn eating everything, fruit, your deck, you included, especially with anything fermented, in front of them (hornets do the same)? Had a Bald Faced Hornet stripping off 'Thompson's Water Seal' from my deck recently.
The queen has chosen 'a chosen few' to change sexes and hibernate as the others perish, in your wood piles preferably, spread her genes next year...I doubt that they write letters to each other in the spring like "Hi honey bun!...where did you spend your winter?" I am probably wrong, but it might be the drones who become the chosen few and not the gatherers. Alternatively, chipmunks will gather 500-1000x of the food required to sustain themselves over the winter and they don't even like their brothers and sisters. Chipmunks go to bed with dusk falling into the night as Great Blue Herons like them as snacks.
DO NOT MESS WITH MOTHER NATURE!

Yes molark99, this is completely off-topic....but will bet you a Tim Hortons Donut and coffee (double-double) 'in the field' that The Three Amigos here couldn't tell the difference between a tamarack, , juniper (although, no doubt Gin, is a staple dietary substance) and skunk cabbage.....But, they know a Ferrari from a Porsche, and feral cat, is admitted and they know aeroports!....and just don't know how to get out of the Parking Garage into the Traffic without a map!
Cheers
