Realize your value.........I was listnening to two great interviews on the weekend from both John Embry and David Morgan
on their views as to how the PMs will perform throughout 2011 and onward in their views. Impressive
points were made throughout both interviews but the one comment that stood out for myself and was stated numerous times by Mr. Morgan I believe it was, was that it was imperative that an investor understand fully
the value of what they are holding so that when we see pullbacks as we have going into the first days of the
new year, that we will use those as further opportunities to buy and not sell. There is no way though that
an investor will display that sort of confidence unless they have taken the time to educate themselves in the company they are holding.
As a subscriber to Northern Miner, there was a suberb article written up about a week ago about Atac.
Out of respect for other subscribers and the magazine I was reluctant to post any of the info on the board.
After seeing the weak hands being played out and most likely the little shaking with the Euro crisis still
hot on our tails, I decided to attempt to comprimise and provide some exerpts from the article to aid in
remaining us all as to why we have been so darn excited all year. If you would like to view the whole
article and many others worth a good read, I urge you then to purchase your own one year subscription
which hopefully will aid Northern Miner to forgive me as well..........lol
to go along with it, I decided that I needed to.......or wanted, to provide some excerpts from the article to help restore or shore up some
Atac revels in rewards
RAU PROJECT MAY BE THE 'NEXT CARLIN TREND'
By: Gwen Preston
KENO, YUKON -- The Carlin trend is world renowned, and deservedly so, as the 200-sq.-km stretch of ground in northern Nevada boasts more than 100 million ounces of past gold
production and current gold resources. It is also famous for being unique -- geologists have spent the last 40 years searching for another Carlin-type district, but to no avail.
That is, until now.
Atac Resources (ATC-V) used regional prospecting to home in on a long, narrow belt of rocks in the eastern Yukon that may just be the next Carlin. The company's first hole into its first Carlin-esque target returned a whopper intercept: 4.65 grams gold per tonne over 65.2 metres.
And importantly the mineralization in that hole came in carbonaceous rocks showing signs of a debris- flow genesis that were also impregnated with orpiment and realgar, which are arsenic minerals.
Why are those characteristics important? Because they are precisely the characteristics found in the gold deposits of the Carlin trend.
Atac is also busy calculating a resource estimate for the Tiger zone, the hydrothermally oxidized gold zone discovered three years ago that has produced such intercepts as 8.7 grams gold over 59 metres.
All told, the 200-km long Rau project has rapidly become one of the most intriguing operations in the world.
