-  The underground portion is soft rock mining using continous mining equipment like coal or potash mining which is a low cost mining operation.
-  Baja's cu grade is 2 % for the first 6 years (this is not cu. equivalent.  Baja cu. eq. is even higher) compared to Copper Mountain's copper equivalent head grade of 0.53 %.
-  labour costs are lower in Mexico
-  Baja has a port at its door step.   Copper Mountain has to ship 300 km to Vancouver.
-  Baja has a 23 year mine life as opposed to Copper Mountain's 17 years
