RE: u idiots don't catch it when they hedge at 3.9It is $3.97 not 3.97%.  This is actually a plus.  You need to put it into perspective.  It is on only 50% of the production of copper which in itself is 60% of revenue.  It reduces risk.  It allowed fiancing that unlocked all the value of the project.
This hedging was only to secure the small part of the loans required.  The other big loan was financed at a fixed rate of just over 3%.  There are no guaratees the price of copper will stay over $3.97.
