RE:RE:Viability of the Quarry ModelThanks drw121, but I was hoping someone could clarify the matter a little bit more for me, I see how you could've gotten a little confused there though due to my poor wording. I am aware that the definition of quarry in chapter Q-2, r. 7 Division 1 of the Quebec Mining Act regarding regulations respecting pits and quarries, specifically excludes graphite amongst several other materials.
The CEO of the company being interviewed in the article I cited earlier seemed confident that it could be done, however, and explicitly stated such. I assumed he has some idea of the regulatory requirements to back that statement up.
That was the first time I had heard about graphite quarrying in Quebec outside this forum so I was just wondering if someone here was better aquianted with the process and could provide some insight into the legal or regulatory facets. For example, why is graphite on that list of exceptions.
