I can see where it could end up making the stock easier to decline, but I see no reason to believe that it is inevitable or even more probable than it moving in the opposite direction. Than again, I have no data on past occurrences, so I wonder where the opposition is coming from.
I have no real opinion and would just like to understand the reasoning behind the different sides of the argument.
I presume that longterm shareholders realize that, in the recent past, CDO has been
1. less than competent or not interested in enhancing shareholder value,
2. abysmal in communicating what they have or why anyone would want to buy shares, and
3. more consumed with making deals for more property when they have to sell pencils on the street corner to afford to print business cards without depleting the treasury
And then they do a financing with the vulture slime at Mineral Fields, ensuring that, if any progress is made on the share price, those MFers will dump shares and undo the progress.
Any shareholder that does not shout for change here has to be oblivious and in a coma...but that is only my opinion.
