This is a done deal I'm sure they made deals with management of kicking horse, just like they did with the take over of Trioil

An offer from VII could still happen, regardless of what KCK and the buyer have agreed to. Any superior offer would have to be given to the shareholders to decide upon.

If this was a better market I might agree. However, this is a very strong bid and pays a premium to the market for upside. My assessment is zero chance of another bid. I am more afraid of an unlikely black swan event killing the bid outright than missing out on an unlikely higher bid. KCK could go back to $2.50. Am good at $4.70 in the market than waiting for this to close. The bird is in my hand ...more

The "premium" they paid was only against the share price, not the actual value of the assets. And there is a ZERO chance the buyer will back away, as they are a huge company and this is a small acquisition for them. So there is no risk in holding for a while to see if VII or POU might just take a shot. ZERO risk.

I agree the risk is very very small they walk away. Perhaps less than 1 percent but not zero. It would take a black swan global event to crash oil.  I don't see a takeover by 7gen at this price. KCK and 7 gen mgmt are less than cozy. Regarding the zero assessment with 7gen, I could explain further but we don't run in the same circles. Congrats Lunch, no other bidders as you surmised. Righand 2 was optimistic but underestimated the current environment. Regardless, you can do allot of damage with the cash from this deal. No rush though, for weather, supply, sentiment reasons etc. I recommend KEL but it still might be early due to the glut. Tuff sector right now. We need production declines in US and some OPEC policy stance ...more
