RE:RE:Mobile Antenna (On the Move) will start production soon Meh, not too worried. My employer sells a commercial electronics product line that is made by a private company here in Canada. When they announce a new product we automatically assume it will be two years late. It doesn't worry us one much, because in the commercial electronics industry failure to deliver new products doesn't really affect sales of an established brand...we just keep selling the old product until the new one comes along, then we keep selling the old one anyway.
Actually the more I think about it the more similar the two companies are...they too use local Value Added Resellers to sell and support the product, and the end customer gets very attached to the VAR.
The commercial industry is nothing like the cutthroat retail industry...there is a lot of switching costs and fairly niche product categories that don't lend them well to time-to-market competition. This is the world of "specs" and "RFQs" that benefits the slow players with good connections.
