What Just Happened Here?

Can someone please explain What happened?

After a year and a half of hype and hopium, it finally happened.

Our Ship came in. The White Night in Shining Armour Arrived. The Strategic Investor was revlealed. Anglo American took a 9.9% equity stake!

But What happened? There was a run up the day before. A pre-market press release with that the stake was at 1.95 - a 1% premium to the 90 day average. The CEO then had a Crux Investor video stating that "No further financing is needed until later in the year". This was after the Arument loan was extended and saying "The last thing I want is another dilutive Bought Deal Financing at these levels".

Then later that same day we had a trading halt. At the close of the market what happened? The announcement of ... ANOTHER BOUGHT DEAL FINANCING at $1.77. Who the hell is going to buy at $2.10 when you can grab the offering at $1.77.

So what was the market's reaction to all this news? What always happens when there's an offering below market value - IF THAT'S WHAT THE COMPANY IS WORTH TO YOU THAN IT CAN BE ARRANGED!.

Technically, 4:00pm is later in the year than 10:00 am, but still, what a joke.

What happened to our two favourite pumpers? Mr Technical analyisis this one is moving to 5 (after slaughering a goat to reat its entrails, dividing the large intestine by the square root of Pi, and multiplying it by the Azimuth of Venus) and the other one who's always pie in the sky pumping?

They went silent after the updates to the site's format, and haven't heard a peep since!

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot!

Well - it looks like the pump is over. Interesting how certain bb members here stop  being active and looking at their profiles and their posts it appears they are being paid (massive activity on just one board). I am still invested in CNC as I really believe in the project but I expect the share price to go with the general NI stocks/ jr. base metal miners in the near future - until we are ...more

No one is paying me caramba. Are you sucked in by the FPX trolls who only post on here and are probably down 50% ?      I said this new site layout sucks and it still does. We're stuck in financing mode til March 2 so we'll see what happens after that. Thought you weren't as naive as the trolls and their bash campaign.      This is a marathon not a 100 ...more

wait a minute you said you were quoting this board.   why are you here?   the market rejected the strategic news.   for a bit of money which they can get back by selling their shares you gave 10 percent of future profit away for a few bucks.  Very little risk for Anglo.

No not at all.  As you probably noticed, I'm usually going into sleep mode after some major news. Got my alerts set though ;-) GLTA

Really makes you think.  An insider leak the day before a major news release that results in some of the largest volumes the stock has ever experienced, coupled by a CEO who says one thing right before doing another. Super trustworthy and transparent leadership.  Biggest and bestest mine since Voisey's Bay. Back up the truck, obvious no-brainer, super-cycle incoming, this will be a ...more

Although I was also not impressed and I do not care to listen to the Crux nterview again, it could be argued that " not needing" does not mean not going to do a bought deal. If the deal is considered to be material news...Mark  was in a bad spot when the question was put to him. My only consolation now is in the fact that Anglo agrees ti the current market valuation and  Anglo ...more

I don't think things look bad and the FS will be very good.  A lot has changed since the early days and they fact that AA is now invested adds to CNC's credibilty in a big way.

Yes, there's  a few things that are really pissing me off. 1. This stock has been ravaged by algo traders and short sellers. The offering below market value the same day the strategic was announced, is nothing more than a double cross, and did't give the short sellers a loaded gun, it gave them the keys to the armoury and ammo safe. Someone on CEO mentioned that a different company ...more

You bought a small position at $1.50 and could have sold at $2.20, but you didn't, so now you're furious and it's everyone else's fault you didn't sell ? You trolls are pathetic.  https://stockhouse.com/companies/bullboard?symbol=v.cnc&postid=35167216
