Nemaska - The plot thickens!

Oh Boy!

Those of you may remember Livent was involved with NMX before bankruptcy!

Livent to form a JV with Pallinghurst.  The Livent/Pallinghurst JV will own 50% and
Invesstiment Quebec the other 50%

From Livents 3rd Q press release!

Today Livent announced its participation in a consortium that was granted court approval on October 15th, 2020 to acquire the business and certain assets of Nemaska Lithium Inc. ("New Nemaska") located in Qubec, Canada1

Livent has agreed to invest in New Nemaska via a joint venture with The Pallinghurst Group.  Both companies will equally own Qubec Lithium Partners ("QLP"), which will have a 50% equity ownership in New Nemaska.

The remaining 50% of New Nemaska will be owned by Investissement Qubec.  Livent and Pallinghurst will have responsibilities for the development and operations of the project.

New Nemaska is one of the most attractive lithium projects in the world and is ideally positioned to meet the growing demand for a reliable high-grade supply of lithium chemicals in
North America and Europe.  It will also have a favorable sustainability profile due to its location in North America and abundant access to renewable hydroelectric power, among other factors.

Listened to the Livent call - Very interesting!

Going to do a complete optimization study that will take about 6-9 months to decide
what the mine/conversion/integrated chemical plant will look like.

Livent will bring Lithium expertise to the project.

New Nemaska will be able to produce zero carbon emission lithium

Livent - JV will allow us to diversify our asset base

Livent's CEO Paul Graves on the Q&A. New Nemaska will be taking a step back...along with optimization reiview, not sure if chemical plant should be in shawinigan or at waboochi.  Not sure if chemical plant is even feasable where it currently is or if process will work at commercial scale at the OPEX previously stated by Nemaska, it may be quite a bit higher.  My thoughts So ...more

Paul Graves seems to be a grounded person.....unlike Bourassa.

Everyone on this board has known for years that CRE is way different than NMX 1.0 but a lot of investors don't understand that. NMX's future success is important for CRE after all the screw ups in the Quebec lithium industry. We have to see well established players in the industry get involved in QC. We should find out soon what the market observers and newsletters have to say about that.& ...more

Same process as ? ........CRE Just wondering what you meant since you mention risk free.
Comment by Montreal1010 on Nov 06, 2020 7:20am
I just meant a process Livent is used to instead of NMX's new patented process
Comment by tinker901 on Nov 06, 2020 10:17am
Thats what I thought. A patent is a patent. Just look at Orbite Alumina. And we could make a parallel with several "miracle" patents to extract lithium from clay.
Comment by Montreal1010 on Nov 06, 2020 10:29am
You're right, a lot of R&D needs to be done on the miracle patents before producing on a large scale and not just a pilot plant  Looks like we have Firday! We just hit $0,89 in the first hour of trading
Comment by blowshigh on Nov 06, 2020 10:07am
That's what I was thinking Montreal, it would make sense actually as CRE/Outotec have proved the sulfate free process works...and according to TSLA the sulfate free process is the direction they want to go! QLG (Quebec Lithium Group), this is the official new name for Pallinghurst/Livent/Invest Quebec/Nemaska 2.0)  I'm sure QLG review will be looking at traditional process very ...more

Montreal1010, your prediction was spot on: ''Firday closing price of $0.90+ maybe?'' I also don't see New Nemaska using the new process developed by Nemaska 1.0. We have a shot at getting to market first if New Nemaska has to change some things around. Fingers crossed for permitting and offtake agreement to happen in 2020. Matteo01
