Africa Oil Advised of Court Proceedings
VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Sept. 28, 2010) - Africa Oil Corp. ("Africa Oil" or "the Company") (TSX VENTURE:AOI) hasbeen informed of Kenyan court proceedings, which were brought byInterstate Petroleum Ltd. ("IPL") against the Permanent Secretary,Ministry for Energy. IPL is seeking a judicial review of theadministrative process that led to the issuance of exploration permitsin respect of, amongst others, Blocks 10BB, 12A and 13T, which resultedin the Company being a named party to the proceedings. A preliminaryorder, granting IPL leave to seek orders against the PermanentSecretary, has been granted, and a hearing date has been establishedfor October 27, 2010. The Company has been advised by its legal counselin Kenya that the courts in Kenya will generally grant this sort ofpreliminary order in applications of this nature, as there is norequirement to establish the merit of the claim on the initialapplication.
The Kenyan Ministry of Energy has advised the Company that it maycarry on its work program and that its production sharing contracts arein good standing.
