It appears to be a proof of concept as the videos are old and the technology was patent pending at time of video production. I'd guess that one they proved the concept in Quebec they proceeded to take it to market. The professor in the videos was quite accurate in his timing of the technology prediction. He stated about 5 years and the technology would be ready. Seems he was right.
