More drilling is going to happen but will not impact the BF. It will be to drive up the price. You are correct to point out the inconsistancy of more expense going beyond the requirements to start the clock on the option. I leave that to everyone to speculate why this is being done.
Before a suggested buyout time can be considered, the above must be answered.

An additional 3.5 billion pounds of copper may exist and I might have underestimated that number. It could be more. The ore body goes right through the mountain!
