RE: NOT VOTING IS THE EPITOMY OF STUPIDITYReally? Have you thought about direct action by funding the candidates you want to win? How about quietly going about using the internet to build up their case for the voters. What about co-opted Aditorials supporting the principles of those candidates without directly attaching the article to them thus violating election laws. If more of us did this we could socially engineer the landscape we wanted. The problem is that those of us who do this don't really bring pressure to bear until things get ugly. Since we are well insulated it has to get really ugly. This is why we have so many starving children in BC. We had 20 children (natives) die in foster care in less than a year. It was in the news for 5 days. Nothing is being done. Wip service was paid but that's it.
It seems foolish to waste effort on concerns when we can act on our spheres of influence and affect some degree of change. Your vote means nothing. $10,000.00 to a politico trumps 30% of the votes in a riding and shapes the politico's message and subsequent actions. Are you a younger person from middle lower income? I ask this because you don't seem to know much about social engineering and elections. Richer people and the studious tend to know what the impact of money is. If you are coming up from the common you are more likely to believe what you've been told because you were immersed in it. Nature Nurture arguement. Aubrey wrote a book called The Territorial Imperative. It strips naked the practiced faced of the human condition revealing our bare essences. The upper class recognize this and have money to differentiate themselves and so, that is exactly what they do.
