Commercial Agreement/Lassonde

Lassonde is involved in many mining companies, he's an unpaid advisor to CVW's CEO. He has invested in the company re stock. Look up Foran Mining or Farraday copper and see major shareholders. Commercial Agreement with CNQ in distant future.

How distant do you figure?  Talking months or years? I can wait, but if it's much more than a year or so, they are going to have to raise more cash.

True but he has quickly become one of the largest shareholders. I think that speaks to his confidence, As for commercial agreement with CNQ. I think we all would have liked to see it by now. Obviously CNQ's sense of urgency was less than what we would have like to see. That said, they are no longer the only viable partner. I understand the conversations with others (especially Suncor) have ...more

Pierre bot into FOM in 2010. He isnt on thier board. Who is on thier board ? Darren Morcombe . The same Darren on the CVW board who brought in Lassonde perhaps ? The same Darren who talked Dubey into moving to Calgary and taking a pay cut in the short term? Lassonde and Dubay arent looking to make a this a long drawn out affair likely. The CVW CEO has a lot of contact w PL is my understanding. A ...more

I can understand CNQs reluctance to move ahead though. I mean, how can you expect a company to move ahead with any new initiatives with only $11B in free cash flow?

Since oil sands  operators share technology through their industry association, one can imagine CNQ, Suncor,  and everal other big operators will eventually apply CVW technology.  That is where we make the big bucks.  Somebody with financial capacity has to move first
Comment by Arvid77 on May 05, 2023 12:43pm
Hmmm, who could possibly have the financial capacity to do this? The top 5 operators in the oil sands have a combined $110B in free cash flow in 2022.  Should be enough, no?

You are absolutely right plus oil prices are projected to be firm (for what projections are worth).  So why is the commercial agreement taking so long to mature?  It's frustrating.
