I was talking about a fee for service expert such as a tax accountant (suitable for large potential tax burdons in situations where the individual is unsure of the best structure) Those of you responding to my comments are thinking of a someone like a Mutual Fund salesperson. Unfortunately anyone can call themselves a financial advisor and that can cause problems like some of you have outlined.
