Yes, the fact that this was an official news release is interesting; possibly either they are extremely confident on winning the bid -- of course, it's not a slam dunk by any means, until it is ;) --, or it is attached to something from their past. He actually mentioned though I forget the exact wording something like "We are required to report on the status of the bid" or something. He isn't trying to trick us into thinking its a slam dunk. I'lll see if I can find the exact words.

if they are required to report the status of the bid then the other companies should also be required. Has anyone seen NR from other companies? If not then I would suspect it's basically a done deal. But we'll see

Unless i'm mistaken, not all company's are publicly trading thus not required to report within these rules.

This is a requirement of the client so any company would have to comply.  My my two cents here is that they are alone.  Usually for government contracts the proponents compete with each other than the preferred one has to go through a due diligence at the end to confirm meeting all specific requirements of the RFP including capacity to deliver.  If the proponent has understood the

If this is a customer requirement that every company must comply, shouldn't we see other companies announcing this too?  I can't find any other news release about a 40 million bidding.

You can't find other announcements because, to my understanding they are alone! Also on my previous post I forgot the Drone company that will clear the path for new markets or waiting ones...

What I read out is that the competitors have to prove that they can meet all the expectations and capacity of delivery . They have to answer some questions in different areas and get points for that. Whoever has the most points and meets all the requirements will be the first choice to be invited to a meeting , which will then most likely lead to a contract .

To me this part with the competitors is past.  There in the DD period to confirm the contract can be awarded to them.  I may be wrong but this is my past experience with similar contract.  I would even expect the announcement to be made before next Tuesday. But again, no since or privilege info on that just based on similar past experiences. So let's say it a mix of rational

Yes, it's not that clear to me ... when reading it, does it means they succeeded 4.3.1 a and b ... they would now be at c... but there is no requirement of announcing it so is it this process... not clear to me.   It is not the kind of process I experienced in the past.  Let's wait and see in the coming days. If there is no announcement I would believe the next 2 steps are

I'm expecting an annoumcement any day now on the contract. Why? An election is expect to be called next week so they want to announce prior to election so as not to delay contract. Otherwise, if may be announced after the election which i doubt will happen just in case there is a channge in gov't. This is my opinion.

Yes, the Feds are sending out $500 cheques to seniors next week and promising they will raise the OAS Pension by 10% starting next July. With the funds arriving next week I would also surmise the call for an election will happen at the same time -- not that they would be trying to bribe us to vote for them :-))
