RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:DME, exchange rates and the importance of luck Supply and Demand is one thing but inflation is another beast. Keeping interest rates artificial low has led to people borrowing to put money into the stock market to renovate.

It is the saw mills and distributors that are making a killing and to blame.  Logs are being sold at the same price. Therefore lumber prices should normalize once demand subsides.

Lowes, HD and other big box sellers compete with each other and price lumber with 15% margins so they are not the cause although 15% has translated in to more dollars for them

example $100 x0.15 is $15  200 x 0.15 = $30

So blame the greed of Saw Mills/Distributors who took the sharp increase in demand to raise prices by 100%
