RE: Copperis & my thoughtsI think the phrase is "don't give up your day job". The traffic on this board has been very healthy of late and some of the discussion excellent, but some of the recent posts can be interpreted as being snide if not just plain nasty. I would like to give "Copperis" the benefit of the doubt here, but if someone gets themselves twisted over something like this then maybe they should reconsider their involvement in speculative investing. (Which we are all doing.) If you get so emotionally involved it is unhealthy. You are likelier to make costly mistakes. (If anyone wants to flame me, please do so but privately into my inbox.)
Some people are also no longer posting, which is a shame. I used to particularly value posts by SKLASSEN. Maybe he still lurks, or posts under a different identity (I don't know). I would like to hear their thoughts if they are still around these parts.
My thoughts? I have varied my position in Aur ever since the takeover of Canada Tungsten. I like Andacollo as a property, originally CTGs (as a Canada Tungsten shareholder I voted AGAINST Aur's takeover as it was a "Bargain Billy" purchase IMHO), and have viewed the development of the hypogene deposit that underlies the deposit currently being mined as the next big project for Aur. Along with Duck Pond, this will see production roughly double. All being financed internally. I like that. (So when people trash management for holding T-bills, then my view is that this is part of an overall strategy for the development of current properties.) I disagree with the immediate repayment of Aur's current debt as it is on pretty good terms and it gives them additional flexibility. I disagree with a share buyback at this time. I like the idea of continued special dividends. I am excited about La Verde as a property but have been in this sector for long enough to realise the risks. I have quit buying on dips then selling on rises as I cannot seem to gauge this as well as I once was, and feel I would be risking missing a big move up. I am optimistic that Cu will remain above $1.50/lb for the next couple of years.
