RE:Electric Avenue vs. Greenbushes Project
It is interesting. The greenbush lithium complex is 3 km long by 300 meters wide. Certainly the FL project might have similar or larger scale, after full evaluation. The quality of the pegamites (Li concentration and low FE) seems similar.
The difference is greenbush has decades of development.
Jointly owned by Albemarbe (biggest lithium producer) and Tianqui (Chinese) it produces 1.34 million tons of lithium concentrate in two plants with a third plant underway to add another 520,000 tons. The chemical grade lithium concentrate from the two
current plants is sent to two separate plants (one owned by each company) to convert the litihum concentrate into lithium hydroxide. The albemarbe plant produces 250,00 tons of lithium hydroxide and the Tanqui plant another 100,000 tons of lithium hydroxide.
So anyway FL has a nice projects and has drilled some holes and is drilling more. They have done some engineering projects. They want to do all the steps to profduce the lithium hydroxide for sale to battery companies. But the 5 plants that support greenbush production probably cost about $500 million a piece and there is a lot of mining infrastructure to mine the spudomene from th epegamites and get it to first three plants whose output goes to next two plants. At electric avenue power is going in but there is not a year round road, though that may be coming too.
And FL just raised $12 million dollars in an equity raise. I do think the best bet may be a BIG deep pockets partner like Albemarbe with FL retaining an interest. Or a direct link to a battery manufacturer (including an big EV maker) that would provide up front investment dollars and a guaranteed market.
I would say the main difference between Greenbush and FL is a few billion dollars invested over a few decades. But FL also has some advantages in being a NA supply source. The size and quality of the resource seems to be pretty remarkable and each step so far has proven that out. I sure think FL is is well worth a sppeculaqtive investment.. I am glad I have some though just 8200 shares at US 67 cents. Wish I had bought more. Probably still a good buy here.
