RE: 'Satellite Nav'Hey Butch....
You're correct ...I do sometimes have a little problem with what you say....maybe because you're fudging some of it, it just comes through a little unclear.
In relation to the discussion about being off course...... might I remind you that AFIRS pinpoints the aircraft's location quite nicely....it tracks it!! But has no ...repeat...NO....capability to correlate that pinpointed position with a presumed correct course.
AFIRS ONLY KNOWS WHERE THE A/C IS ....it has no logic to figure out where the A/C should be.....or what the correct and approved flight TRACK is supposed to be.
Now you suggest that ''they don't act on it while the plane is in the air if a pilot is way off course...they will take corrective measures afterwards''....
Well, once again my friend. since AFIRS does not know the intended track...it could never know if the A/C is off course. But I have to ask......even if it were remotely possibly.......what exactly did you have in mind as a 'corrective measures afterwards'......I'm all ears.
You must have some serious misgivings about the modern piloting skills ........you're determined that these poor chaps are getting off course frequently....I trust you only take the train!!
And by the way, I've no desire.... nor have I made an effort ......to diminish the company.....I only challenge some of the half baked truths that abound on this board.
As far as the 'Motion to Dismiss'.....what's new.
AMA announced in December that they would file that motion ....it's now coming to fruition. Obviously it's up to AMA's lawyers ( all 4 of them ) to present such a solid argument that the plaintiffs 'patent infringement' action is without merit.... that the judge will have no recourse but to send SNA's lawyers ( all 3 of them ) packing. I would certainly not presume to judge the outcome.......possibly be wise if none of us did. We'll all find out on April 11th...or shortly thereafter.
One thing for sure.....it's quite apparent that the lawyers are the winners....all 7 of them!!
