FLYHT Aerospace Solutions Ltd V.FLY

Alternate Symbol(s):  FLYLF

FLYHT Aerospace Solutions Ltd. provides solutions for the aviation industry. The Company's aircraft certified hardware products include Automated Flight Information Reporting System (AFIRS), AFIRS Edge, Tropospheric Airborne Meteorological Data Reporting (TAMDAR) and FLYHT-WVSS-II. AFIRS is an aircraft satcom/interface device, which enables cockpit voice communications, real-time aircraft state analysis, and the transmission of aircraft data while inflight. The AFIRS Edge is a 5G wireless quick access recorder (WQAR), aircraft interface device (AID), and aircraft condition and monitoring system (ACMS). TAMDAR system is a sensor device installed on aircraft that captures temperature, atmospheric pressure, winds aloft, icing, turbulence, and relative humidity. FLYHT-WVSS-II is an externally mounted aircraft sensor that detects and reports water vapor as relative humidity. The Company's wholly owned subsidiary, CrossConsense, offers skilled services to the commercial aviation industry.

RE: RE: RE: Pundit ??

RE: RE: RE: Pundit ??

I'll gladly check back with you anytime you wish Fire!

Seems to me we've been checking back for some time, and all your promises notwithstanding, you still aren't making much of an impression.

I trust you recognize that the statement ''no operator was going to install both systems'', and the ensuing paragraph, made it clear to you that no operator was going to install both systems at the same time...and I was clear in pointing out that Mr Tempany acknowledged it was most unlikely that the ARINC users would drop ARINC for AFIRS.

And to be absolutely clear, I've never said that there couldn't be 'advantages' to using AFIRS...what I've said emphatically is that AFIRS does not save fuel....it does not have that capability....it has no integral input into the operation of the aircraft. You well know what the acronym stands for ...Automated Flight Information Reporting System....emphasis on ''reporting''. It is a data retrieval sytem that collects and downloads prescribed data from the selected sources ( busses ) on the aircraft. It allows data to be collected and assessed for the various operational regimes of flight ...and then strategies can be defined or refined to make operating changes that allow the aircraft to be operated more efficiently....but only the pilot through the Flight Management System can actually incorporate the change....AFIRS is merely an electronic observer.

Put it this way....the speedometer in your car will portray very graphically that at 130 kms per hour, you're not only exceeding the speed limit, but you're operating the car very fuel inefficiently...but it still can't pull your foot off the accelerator. I suppose you could tell me that we could put a speed governer on the car...but we haven't yet, have we....and how would that apply to the various speeds you may be required to drive at......and how would the governor know when you're in a 40 km zone and adjust the parameter accordingly...or could I still operate at 100 kms if I chose ??

What many of you lads, because of your less than stellar knowledge, can't comprehend...is that aircraft operate in a fluid and everchanging environment....it is not a  vacuum where everything can, or will be done, to suit some highly efficient theoretical norm. And furthermore, most of you demonstrate that you haven't the slightest concept that much of this so called 'data retrieval' has been going on for years ( long before AMA was born ). Most of the operators are fuel efficient beyond your wildest dreams......no rock has been left unturned ....and the pilots are finely trained and tuned to the exigencies of fuel efficient flight. But the pilot is the final authority...only he can operate the aircraft in the way the circumstances of the moment dictate......they haven't yet figured out an AFIRS that can rationally handle the task.

I know you think AFIRS is some great cutting edge technology...but if it is the great panacea you wish it to be ...why do you suspect that all the world's clever flight ops managers haven't beaten a path to their door?? Or is it just that AFIRS is still a well guarded secret ...and it's only the likes of you and Butch and several other sharp cats here that  are privvy to its mysteries.

You're deluding yourself...certainly your privilege. This is still a niche product, and its lack of significant market penetration should give you a hint that the industry isn't nearly as excited about it as you are.

I don't want you to sell your stock...I don't care what you do...buy more if you see fit....but at least get realistic about the product....how the market will reflect it is anybody's guess....but some of us so far are using our background to guess better that others!!
