RE:RE:RE:Sales backlog?Uber... BT did say quite recently that WestJet intended to meet the Satcom mandate, 2021. They would have to start installing soon, one would think.
A refresher about the contract announced in January, 2020...
Calgary Herald:
"A Calgary-based company that develops inflight data systems for the aviation industry has inked its first deal with homegrown airline WestJet. The $6.2-million contract will see Flyht’s Automated Flight Information Reporting System (AFIRS) installed on more than 160 WestJet Boeing 737s. It is a major coup for local company Flyht, which vied for the contract against a number of international competitors in a competitive bid process. “We were bound and determined to win it,” Flyht CEO Tom Schmutz said in an interview (at the time). “It was certainly a goal of mine to score the hometown airline.”
The enhanced satellite communications that Flyht will provide to WestJet will allow the airline’s flight crews and operations control centre to stay connected through voice and data capabilities, allowing effective communications anywhere in the world. The AFIRS system will replace WestJet’s existing satellite communications hardware, which was older and due for an upgrade."
