Buy the rumour, sell the news?

Buy the rumour, sell the news?

Hello, all:

As Barnbreath recently asked me in an email, somewhat rhetorically: "Buy on WHAT rumour"?  That is, did we miss something here?  What caused that steep run-up in a short, seven day period, when we catapulted from $1.40 to $2.00?  The "sell" part we understand - mostly due to profit taking and a dash of manipulation to keep the sp from running away too quickly.   Unless, of course, certain people privy to sensitive information felt that the (then) upcoming NR was going to be such a homerun that it would cause the sp to spike, and they (and other trusted friends and family, etc.) wanted to ensure that they had placed their bets before the news was out.  Or, could it have been attributable to a site visit of Springpole by some of the analysts who were informed of recent (positive) developments vis-a-vis drill results or progress that was being made behind the scenes regarding infrastructure, the Natives, etc.?

I am just speculating here - I do not mean to imply any improprieties.

In any event, neither I, nor Barn, were aware of any rumours that would explain the sharp sp rise.  Any thoughts?

Barisian
