Potential Takeout Candidates for GCU!!
If there is a takeover of GCU, I predict either of 3 companies, either Rubicon Minerals, Premier Gold or New Gold Inc. Rubicon Minerals: Shares Outstanding: 395M Market Cap: $418M Share Price 2011: $6.00 Present Share Price: $1.06 (an 82% drop) Michael Anthony Lalonde, P.Eng., President and Chief Executive Officer, and a Director. Lalonde is a miner, and he has a good team under him. Peter Rowlandson, Director Michael Winship, Director Premier Gold: Shares Outstanding: 160M Market Cap: $390M Share Price 2011: $8.00 Present Share Price: $2.45 (a 70% drop) Ewan S. Downie, CEO, President and Director. Ebe Schercus, Chairman, Director John Begeman, Director Ewan is a mining explorationist, and a developer (Wolfden Res), but he's not a miner. Ewan's great strength is that when he recognizes a great property, he acquires them, takes them to the next level, and then sells them to a producer, which are need of reserves. Ewan is an opportunist guy, but more importantly, he's a Northwestern Ontario guy, who never lost his roots for NW Ontario. Both Schercus and Begeman are no slouches either, in the mining business. Since Red Lake is Goldcorps backyard I believe they would likely be the buyer-but who knows maybe you are right.
